Greetings,When I load a MIDI file, insert the Cakewalk TTS-1 and route my MIDI to it and the Cakewalk TTS-1 to my sound, Sonar crashes as soon as it hits the first notes. (It doesn't seem to be bothered by MIDI signals that set tempo or things like that.)This happens whether I load Sonar from Steam or directly from 'SteamSteamAppsCommonCakewalkx64SONAR X3'.This crashing does not occur if I run 32-bit. I have confirmed that only the 64-bit Cakewalk VST path is in my Plug-in path (C:Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonCakewalkx64Vstplugins).Finally, I am able to use other plug-ins successfully (e.g., Native Instruments' stuff).Any ideas? Thanks,Lew. I have a few questions:. Your sound device?. Driver mode?.
Sampling Rate and bit-depth of your project?. Where did you get your midi file? Could you link me to it if possible? Hey Seth,Thanks for the response.1. This happens whether I choose my default sound device (AMD High def audio) or my M-Audio interface.2. Driver mode is WASAPI.3. My sampling rate is 44.1k.
Many of the Cakewalk plug-ins are GM compatible. This means you can use a GM preset in to control many of the parameters without having to first learn them. For example, if you want to control the Cakewalk TTS-1, select Impact LX user preset 2 to control channels 1-8 and user preset 3 to control channels 9-16.
Bit depth is 24.4. The MIDI files (I've tried several) are usually home grown, but I've also use a few I downloaded a gazillion years ago just as test fodder.Perhaps I should just try reinstalling. What do you think? The CoyoteWT will not insert ('Failed to insert soft synth. The synth may not be properly installed.'
), and the Cyclone also seems to caus a crash.Thanks,Lew. Originally posted by:Hey Seth,Thanks for the response.1. This happens whether I choose my default sound device (AMD High def audio) or my M-Audio interface.2. Driver mode is WASAPI.3. My sampling rate is 44.1k.

Cyclone tends to work better in 32-bit SONAR. Though I am able to run it in 64-bit SONAR on Win8x64. You could potentially try running Steam or SONAR as administrator and see if these clear up.What OS are you on?
